for a community collaborative project with 100% of the proceeds donated to 7th gen rising collective.

A colouring book made by the community for the community:

This year, I made this colouring book for adults as a meditative art therapy activity. Read about the original project here.

Now I’m organizing another one but as a collaborative community project that could be sold around the city and through contributors at various markets.

So what’s my purpose behind this one?

It’s kinda a mix of a few things:

  1. Make the artist to artist community better (more collaborating, less competing).

  2. I think this kinda activity is underrated, beneficial, and more people should do it. If more artists contribute, more people might know about it [to buy a copy]. Artist or not, colouring is for everyone and improves our minds. :)

  3. Donating all the profits to a good organization which further benefits the community.

Submit one original digital illustration that you think might be therapeutic for people to colour in.

The theme: A colouring book for a better world

The artwork can be something you’ve already made or something new (it’s up to you) as long as it’s 100% yours and portrays what a better world looks like to you.

Open to anyone, as long as you can draw. ;) *will be capped at 20-30 submissions, in order of submission.

If it goes well, there might be another, likely with another organization receiving the proceeds.

Submissions will be compiled and put into a designed book and printed / distributed locally.

Any contributor can assist spreading the word and may take a few copies to help sell but I will keep track of copies and collect the profits to donate the proceeds all together.

Submission guidelines:

  • Must be only black (100% black for print) and, of course, mostly outlines

  • Aspect ratio must fit 7x9 inches

  • Can be vector or raster in any suitable file format; if it’s a raster file ensure the file is 300dpi at 7x9 inches

  • Preferred file formats: pdf, eps, or jpg (please don’t send illustrator or photoshop files)

  • Artwork must be 100% yours and original; no AI art

  • With the submission, include your name and pronouns, two socials of choice (IE: website + instagram) and an optional short bio (1-2 sentences, max). This will all be included in the book

  • OPTIONAL: Write a short story, poem, or description (approx. 100-500 words) with the art and include it in the submission email
