i’m mal, a visual communications designer, mixed media artist, and storyteller.
throughout any project i do, i aim to leave things better than i found them. i see curiously, live by sustainable and healthier alternatives of living + being, explore the fine line between order + chaos [where art + design meet], and might bend the rules when the rules don’t make sense.

THIS WEIRDO
i’ve always been a daydreamer; I explode with ideas, think deeply, weirdly, and stand wildly outside the box, and try to appreciate the simple things in life.
growing up, i organized my world around me as much as possible to make life more clear, more direct, and generally easier. naturally, i acquired a visual communications degree and quickly fell in love with any kind of layout work, particularly books and ‘zines.
later, i started thinking about experience design and accessibility in both a digital and physical landscape and how much it matters, started to bring my visual storytelling skills back to words on a page, and began messing around with mixed media visual art.
so at this point, i don’t like to limit my creative work. i believe it’s all connected: everything is designed, everything has a story, and everything is art.
