A COLLECTION OF ABSTRACT STORIES THAT all TELL US TO STOP MAKING OURSELVES SMALLER.

The idea for this collection began when i saw this on the wall of a stall in a public restroom at ness creek music festival and it sparked a whole series to stop apologizing for just being your authentic yourself.

as the first piece in the series, i naturally named it after the inspiration because the process of making this one was nothing but love.

there was no struggle, no frustration, just movement, particularly with the repetitive marks i started adding near the end of the process. these marks soon became consistent across the rest of the collection for no reason other than i simply loved the repetitiveness of making them.

But maybe too much is ACTUALLY JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT + PLUS A LITTLE MORE for the right people.

after many LAYERS I DIDN’T LIKE, i kept thinking, “NO, THIS ISN’T IT, THIS ISN’T FINISHED.”

FINALLY, I REALIZED being lost is like being unfinished. you’re in the middle, not the end. there is no conclusion yet, you’re supposed to be confused.

I promptly STOPPED ADDING LAYERS AND JUST LET IT BE, IN the ‘UNFINISHED’ STATE IT WAS IN because THE UNFINISHEDNESS of this IS exactly THE POINT.
