all part of the show

mixed media on canvas or wood
various sizes

a fun collection of nine adapted from some of my earliest art styles, parts of my earliest art work, or my love for layout design.

“the right time”

acrylic on upcycled canvas
16x20 in

one of my long-time go-to doodles that i recently implemented it onto a few canvases. i played with layering, mixing acrylics with water, and very quick and rough brush work to add texture.

i think this made such a simple plant form have a little more depth.

“all part of the show”

collage on paper on an uncycled wood frame
11x14 in

the next three pieces were a poster design but analog; the kinda layout people did pre-computers.

i drew illustrations on paper (the red part is from an old acrylic painting), cut them all out, arranged the layout on a blank poster, and glued it all together.

studio sign

collage of various materials, on wood
24x24 in

i found a big wood sign at a thrift store and thought it would make a good studio sign for a few summer markets.

sometimes traditional trade show/market/event banners/signage gets boring. plus, sustainability.

the background is made from primarily things (or parts of things) i drew or painted, photographs i took, and some misc. magazine cutouts; the lettering was hand painted with acrylic ink.

i worked quick and i cared very little about anything being perfect or even straight because for this… the mess was intentional.
